Sgt. Gregory Paul Hunt, age 41, of Adrian succumbed to a wound from an accidental firearm discharge at his home Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014.He was born Jan. 27, 1973, in Jackson, Mich., to Charles C. and Carol A. (Lasky) Hunt. Gregory graduated from Napoleon High School and joined the U.S Navy. Upon completion of his tour with the Navy, he attended the Kalamazoo Valley Community College where he earned his associate’s degree. He then became a police officer with the Cambridge Township Police Department where he currently served as deputy chief. Gregory was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and he looked forward to shooting at the Governor’s Match (State of Michigan Shoot) in Jackson. He was a firearms instructor with Cambridge Township, and he held many trophies for his shooting abilities. Gregory was an avid hunter and fisherman.
