Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards released the following statement on Friday afternoon:
It is with a heavy heart that I release the name of our Fallen Hero and brother.
Deputy Joe Dunn, of the Cascade County Sheriff's Office was killed in the line of duty August 14, 2014 after being struck by a vehicle being pursued by law enforcement.
Deputy Dunn is a 2 year 5 month veteran of the Sheriff's Office and a Marine Corp Veteran that served his country in Afghanistan. Joe was 33 years of age.
Deputy Dunn is survived by his parents, two siblings, a wife and two small children.
Our hearts are heavy and full of sorrow at the loss of our brother. No words can truly describe how we feel. Deputy Dunn gave the ultimate sacrifice doing what he loved...protecting the citizens of Cascade County. Deputy Dunn will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you for your dedication and service to the citizens of Cascade County. God Speed Deputy Dunn.
